The iconic house-building TV programme recently celebrated 25 years! As part of the celebration, Kevin McCloud carefully selected his favourite builds for his new book, Grand Designs at 25. He selected our 2019 build, Barn House. Kevin wrote his personal take on each Grand Design.
Barn House, or as he writes, “Expedient House” “was a rare tale, the story of a successful outcome… Jessica designed them a simple, unfussy barn of a building with more than its share of delight, beauty and clever practicality.”
What’s more, Stolon Studio were also asked to exhibit at the Grand Designs Show last month in Birmingham – a five-day exhibition and an opportunity to meet new grand designers.
Robert, Jessica, Nicola, Jo-Lin, Oscar, and Sam all met with exhibition goers to discuss their own plots or projects. We were on hand to provide free advice and guidance. It was also an opportunity for people looking to engage an architect to meet us, and consider working with us. As a practice, we get a great deal from meeting people and believe in making a personal connection.
It was great to see Kevin again and talk about Hemp-crete for a new project we have on the drawing board in Herefordshire! Watch this space!!!
